In the current podcast episode Sharlotte Davis discusses some of the mental health areas she hopes to present as a recurring guest host from non-profits to the business of establishing a practice.
Counselor Sharlotte Jackson wants you to know that mental health includes being able to discuss issues that may concern your day to day life and plans to highlight as many of those areas as possible. They include things like where do you go to locate information to decide if you need help and who do you contact if you think you do. On the professional side, now that you have training how do you set up a practice on a budget or what are some of the cutting edge techniques that can help people work through things that at the moment they are unwilling to verbalize or admit are a concern for them.
Sharlotte is already practicing this approach through a twitter chat she conducts where anyone, professional or the public, can come on and hash out issues like what are the differences in how men and women seek medical help or how to know if that sad young woman you see occasionally is potentially in an abusive relationship. The hope is that by being a recurring guest she will be able to provide the two track audience, professional and public, resources and food for thought that can point them in the direction of non-profit organizations and people who are available to assist them in coping with day to day struggles and just living a fuller life.
